Massive congratulations to both teams working on the Hamberley Care home in Filton and the Brooks Dye Works site in Bristol. Both have achieved an impressive score of 41 in the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS); currently operating in the excellent – exceptional range.
The CCS is a non-profit-making, independent organisation set up by the construction industry to improve its image by striving to promote and achieve best practice under five key areas:
- Care about appearance
- Respect the community
- Protect the environment
- Secure everyone’s safety
- Value their workforce.
Hamberley Care Home, Filton is a state-of-the-art care home and is being constructed over three storeys comprising 27 beds on the ground floor, 27 beds on the first floor and 23 beds on the second floor; each floor has a dining area and a café/coffee lounge. The care home will also include a kitchen, staff facilities, laundry room, plant room, salon and therapy room, cinema and library.
Brooks Laundry, Bristol is a £21.5m contract to design and build 105 new homes at Brooks Dye Works. This is a complex scheme which had presented many challenges prior to commencing on site but the collaborative approach from all stakeholders to ensure these challenges were overcome without compromising on Acorn’s distinctive design standards leaves us well placed to deliver these much needed new homes in Bristol.
