Brooks Laundry

Halsall Construction Limited are delighted to announce that they will once again be working with Acorn Property Group and Galliard Homes in Bristol having secured the £21.5m contract to design and build 105 new homes at Brooks Dye Works.

The key regeneration project in St Werburghs on the former Brooks Laundry site dates back to the 19th century when it was used for industrial units by Brooks Dyers and Cleaners. The scheme developed by Acorn Property Group in partnership with Galliard Homes, will provide an exciting mix of new homes centred around the landmark chimney which is to be retained.

Site remediation is underway with construction beginning in phases from late autumn 2019. Having established a strong relationship from previous successful projects and a shared business ethos both Halsall and Acorn are looking forward to building on their partnership and delivering a scheme that will have a lasting and positive impact on the area.

Halsall MD, Andy Corp, said; “This is a complex scheme which has presented many challenges prior to commencing on site but the collaborative approach from all stakeholders to ensure these challenges were overcome without compromising on Acorn’s distinctive design standards leaves us well placed to deliver these much needed new homes in Bristol.”

Robin Squire, Regional Managing Director of Acorn’s Bristol office, added ‘The former Brooks Laundry site had laid derelict for many years, we are looking forward to working with Halsall to deliver a scheme to the area which will feature landscaped public open spaces, new pedestrian routes linking to the surrounding areas and neighbouring parkland to greatly benefit the local community.’
