Project Overview

This was a mixed tenure scheme of 21 two, three and four bedroom homes for open market sale and an additional nine affordable homes for Devon and Cornwall Housing.

This was a joint venture scheme between Halsall Homes and WestCo Properties.

The properties were built to the latest building regulations for thermal efficiency as well as low running costs with high specification boilers.

Quality external materials and landscaping were used to create an attractive setting with market leading internal fixtures and fittings completing the homes.

More than policy compliant affordable housing provision

All properties have parking facilities and/or a garage, this will minimise on street parking, preventing traffic and narrowing roads

These homes were built using the latest construction techniques, all homes came with a 10 year National House Builders Council (NHBC) warranty, giving the residents peace of mind.

Challenges and Solutions

Access through existing occupied residential area.

Provided alternative access utilising main road and college car-park.

 

Drainage restrictions.

Provided large permeable paving to ensure the development met adoptable drainage requirements.

Diversion of existing services.

Maintained services to existing development via diversion due to incorrect laying of pipes by the statutory authority.
