Choose Talk, Save Lives!

We are encouragingLet’s start talking about mental health at work. today is the Time to Talk – a day when everyone is encouraged to have a conversation about mental health.

Too often, mental health problems are treated as a taboo subject – something not to be talked about, especially at work. However, mental health affects us all and we should feel able to talk about it.  The more conversations we have, the more myths we can bust and barriers we can break down – helping to end the isolation, shame, and worthlessness that too many of us feel when experiencing a mental health problem.

  • Walk and Talk – why don’t you go for a socially distanced lunchtime walk and talk with a work colleague, or, if you don’t have time at lunchtime, go for a walk in the evening with family/friends/work colleague to get outside and have conversations.
  • Time To Talk Day. Why don’t you pick up the phone or video call someone that you have been putting off for some time – switch off that TV for 10 minutes and talk to someone. Don’t feel isolated.
  • Take the mental health quiz – https://www.time-to-change.org.uk/mental-health-quiz
