Donation on the Cards for Greenhill House

January 4, 2011

Greenhill House in Timsbury has received a boost from Halsall Construction Limited, a Bath / Peasedown St John based construction firm.

The house supports individuals affected by disability, and is operated by the Leonard Cheshire Charity which exists to change attitudes towards disability.

Earlier this week Halsall Construction presented a cheque to the charity for £300. The donation was the result of Halsall’s decision not to send Christmas cards last year.

Richard Austin, Area Director for Halsall said, “The idea to support Greenhill House was suggested to us by the Lions Club of Timsbury, and we have all been really impressed with the work the charity does. It is a fantastic cause which benefits people in our local community, and we are pleased to be able to make a donation.”

Manager of Greenhill House, Fran Ashby said, “Donations given to the benefit of Greenhill House residents are used for the `nice to have` things in life.  We are currently undertaking a major fundraising project to replace and modernise our conservatory, which will be part of a social games area. This donation will be used for the soft furnishings and social equipment that the residents will choose and enjoy.”
